Consummation

Through work filled with the consciousness of Divinity in all, and through worship, you attain wisdom when you experience the Divinity that fills all this. Work, Worship, Wisdom – fruitling, mature fruit, juice-filled fruit – this is the order of spiritual progress of each individual. When the fruit is saturated with sweetness, it drops. That is the consummation. (SSS Vol.8, p. 81)

Lamps are many but light is One. Every patch of water on earth has the reflection of sun in it but the original Sun is One. Just as the one Sun is seen in a million pots or lakes, or wells or cisterns, the one Paramjyoti shines as wisdom in a million hearts, whether noticed or un-noticed. When the water in the pot or other receptacle evaporates, the image too disappears. But the Sun is not affected in tire least. So too, the Atma appears in the body (the pot) which contains desires (Water). When identification with the body is given up and when in consequence desires dry up, the image Atma merges in the genuine Atma. This is the Eternal consummation. (SSS Vol.11, pp. 182-183)

If only men knew the path to permanent joy and peace they would not wander distracted among the by lanes of sensual pleasure. Just as the joy felt in dreams disappears when you wake up, the joy felt in the waking stage disappears when you awake to higher awareness (Jnana). So, the Upanishads say, ‘Get up, arise, awake! Time is fleeting fast. While the moment is available, put it to the best use, the awareness of the Divine in all. When you die, you must die not like a tree, a beast, or a worm, but like a man who realises himself to be Divine (Madhava). That is the proper consummation of all the years that you spend in human form. (Thomas, LIC, p. 91)

Using spiritual practices (Sadhana) discard the attachment to individuality and sense pleasures. Welcome the aspiration to expand the heart into the Universal. Do not cloud your minds with cheap desires, transitory hungers and thirsts that need but morsels or mouthfuls. Yearn for the enthronement of your Soul as the unquestioned Monarch of the Universe. When you merge in the Universal, celebrate your triumph over the foes within that have hampered your march to victory. Acquire, Me as your Charioteer, and I shall lead you to that Consummation. Earn that unfailing grace by your sincerity, simplicity and sadhana. (Thomas, LIC, p. 112)
