Guide

Nor is it an infamous injury dealt to the Pandavas. It is an insult, an injury dealt on You. You are our all. We depend on you for everything. Is it then just that You should tolerate this cruel injury being perpetrated on our honour? We have dedicated our hearts to you. Listen! I have dedicated myself to You. Perhaps, you are not content with what we have so far offered at your feet. Let your will prevail’. Thus, she surrendered, fully and unreservedly to the Lord. At this, the Guardian of the Forlorn, the Saviour of those who surrender, the Lord, took upon Himself the burden of rescuing her from distress; He moved in, silent and unseen and blessed her, unnoticed. And, wonder of wonders, the sari which the human ogres were attempting to remove in order to disgrace her was rendered endless; every one, including the tormentors, were stunned at the demonstration of Krishna’s Grace and Draupadi’s devotion. Good men and wise realised that Satya and dharma can never come to harm. (Bhag Vahini, p. 105)

Do not moan that you have no Natha, or Guardian. God is the only Anatha, Guardianless person. All the rest have Him as the Natha or Guardian. He is ever beside man, within him as Conscience, without him as Companion and Guide. (SSS Vol.5, p. 325)

The mind is like a fragrant flower; it emits fragrance whether it is held in the right hand or in the left, whether the person who holds it is good or bad. It walks blindly along, irrespective of the lie of the land. It is blind; and so, someone has to take it on tow. When you invite ten blind people for dinner, you have to lay twenty plates. For each blind person brings with him a guide who can lead him to your home. So, the mind too must have a guide who knows the way, the obstacles, the shoals and ferries. (SSS Vol.9, p. 159)

You have two eyes in your consciousness, namely, satya and ahimsa. They are the guides which will take you to the goal, the two lights, the sun and the moon of the inner firmament. If you want to know the way in which you have to observe satya or truth in speech, look into the Gita. (SSS Vol. 6, p. 104)
