Human Race

Truth, sacrifice and righteousness constitute humanness. Truth is Neeti (morality), Dharma is Reeti (code of conduct) and sacrifice is Khyati (reputation). The combination of all these is Manava Jati (human race). One cannot be called a human being on the basis of form. One has to adhere to truth, uphold Dharma and develop the spirit of sacrifice. (DD on 28-07-1999, p. 5)

One flower does not make a garland. Many flowers make a garland. So all of you should mould into a garland. Then Swami is the inherent, latent thread in between passing through the flowers. What is the use of string without the flower? Consider yourselves as children of one Mother. You should consider others as brothers every time and as one human race. Do not give any room for differences of nationality and religion. All belong to the human race; the caste of humanity, religion of love, language of the heart that is the spirit. This is what you have to learn; let it be any language for the matter. Here is water. Telugu people call it Neeru; Tamilians, Thanneer; Hindi people call Pani, and English people call it Water. Names are different but water is the same. Likewise, God is one. You call Him, Allah, Jesus,Buddha. Develop that faith. (DTB Vol.8, pp. 11-12)

Morality is the true nature of the human race. We are subjected to all types of problems the day when we lose this morality. Truth is morality. Righteousness is the path. Sacrifice is the reputation. Human race is the combination of these three. Human society is the combination of these three-morality, truth and sacrifice. Man has lost this spirit of sacrifice today. He has no morality at all. He is not making any attempt to search for the truth. He is attracted by this transient, ephemeral world; being intoxicated by worldly pleasure, he has forgotten divinity and is wasting his time. (DTB Vol.6, p. 3)

In this world, there is nothing like merit or sin, happiness or sorrow.Mantras, Yajnas and yagas and Yagas are mere rituals. God alone pervade everything lies in understanding the significance of truth and righteousness and putting them into practice. Truth is referred to as Neeti (morality), righteousness relates to Reeti (procedure) and sacrifice confers Khyati (reputation). Manava jati (human race) is the combination of Neeti, Reeti and Khyati. Unfortunately, these are not found in the present day world. (SSS Vol.34, pp. 101-102)
