Angirasa

The sacred name which applies to what is edible to the act of eating and to the one that is eating has been recognised as a form of Brahman in the word ‘Angirasa’. (SSB 1974, p. 100)

Brihaspati, Vachaspati and Brahmanaspati are names which we hear in Sruti and all these names are contained in one name ‘Angirasa’. Another equivalent name is ‘Sama’ and together with these three aspects our Sruti has told us what is right and what is wrong in this world. (SSB 1974, p. 222)

The Lord remains unmoved in any condition, inany circumstance, while being present in every limb and every cell. He is known also as Angirasa--the One who is present in every Anga (limb) in the form of the circulating blood and imparts vitality to it. As therasa (vital essence), He is described as Raso vai Saha (the elan vital). Thus, everything is permeated by God and there is nothing outside Him. (SSS Vol.22, p. 28)

Angirasa is one who represents the sixteen potencies flowing as a sweet liquid in every limb of the human body and sustaining it. (SSS Vol.24, p. 81)

Angirasa has the form of fire. (SSS Vol.24, p. 151)
