How sanctifying would it be if one can offer some food to a hungry living being. We should recognise and conduct ourselves on the basic truth that God is found in human form, is it our duty to hurt a human being and go on worshipping God? Just as the air pervades the entire sky that serves as the basis. The Upakala Karana is one, which provides the basis for creation of an object, but without being created by any object. The sky is the Ashrayam and air is the Asritam. There is a mutually dependent relationship. That is the type of relationship that exists between God and man. Only when man conducts himself in the light that he is in Atma and that Atma is in him, his life becomes meaningful. (Div, 1988, pp. 15-16)

The Bull on which Shiva is said to ride is not the animal called by that name, but the symbol of Dharma or Righteousness, which has four legs,Satya,Dharma, Shanti and Prema. Gopala did not graze cattle, but protected and fed Jivas, known also as ‘Go’. In the study of Veda, you should look for the meaning that satisfies the heart, and not rest content if the meaning satisfies head! A sentence may be right grammatically, but may still be sheer nonsense! (SSS Vol.2, p. 240)
