Manasa bhajare Guru charanam dusthara bhavasagara tharanam. Meditate in thy mind on the Feet of the Guru. This can take you across the difficult sea of existence in birth after birth. (SSSm Vol.1, p. 53)
Your mission has begun. Those are my words to you, My devotees. Each of you has a unique and valuable part to play in this lifetime. Only those whom I have called can serve me. My mission has now reached that point in time when each one of you now has work to do. This planet has a purpose in the great galaxy in which it is held. That purpose is now unfolding before our eyes. I call upon you to radiate the Devotion within you so that its unseen power will envelope all who come into your orbit. To successfully perform your part, always remain centred upon me. Allow yourself to impart that purity of heart within you towards all human beings and all living creatures and do not reach for the fruits of your work. This part of My Mission is performed in absolute silence. You are my instruments from whom my love will pour. Be always aware that the moment you let your ego descend upon you, my work ceases. When you have overcome your negative unmindfulness you will again become my source. The multiplication of my Love will be felt throughout the world. I have drawn you to me. I have made great steps in my Mission over these past incarnations.
My work is ceaseless and so your work, too, is without end. Know that I am within you and without you. There is no difference. Rid yourselves of petty matters forever. You are now Me and I am now Thee. There is no difference. My Darshan will pour forth from Me to and through you. You may be unaware of this constant action. Be ever pure of heart and soul, and mankind in your lifetime will benefit from your unique qualities. (SV90, p. 126)
When you fill your hearts with love, you will have no ill will towards anyone. Cultivate the faith that the Divine is in everyone. Surrender to the Divine in a spirit of dedication. The symbolic meaning of the relations between Krishna and the Gopikas is this; the heart is the Brindavan (in each person). One’s thoughts are like the Gopikas. The Atma is Krishna. Bliss is the sport of Krishna. Everyone must convert his heart into Brindavan and consider the indwelling Atma as Krishna. Every action should be regarded as a leela of Krishna. Gokulashtami is celebrated by offering to Krishna, Paramannam (rice cooked with jaggery). The real meaning of Paramannam is Annam (food) relating to Param (the supreme). Paramannam is sweet. The idea is that the Supreme is sweet. Your love must be sweet. What you offer to God must be all embracing. This is the foremost message of the Avatar. (SS Oct 88, p. 257)
I am encouraging college boys to be examples of the strength and equanimity that can be gained by constant practice of my message. I am ever prompting them to speak or recite, sing or enact this message so that ‘it’ is instilled in their hearts. Whatever I do or get done, whatever I say or direct others to say it is to emphasise, clarify and exemplify this message - the Atmic reality in man. Students are my hope, the source of my delight. They are what I live by. (SGM, p. 365)
They (Shirdi, Sathya and Prema Babas) are not separate. I have already mentioned the complete oneness of the three in the final objective of the mission. I will give you an example. Take a kilo of gur (a sweet substance). The whole of it tastes sweet. Next break it into small pieces. Each of them is sweet. Finally break them further into small grains. You find the same sweetness in them. So the difference is one of quantity and not quality. It is the same with the Avatars. Their tasks and powers requisite to them differ according to the time, the situation and environment. But they belong to, and derive from one and the same Dharma swarupa or divine body. Let us take the example of fruit. It begins with seed, which grows into the tree and from it comes the fruit. Work can be compared to the seed, worship to the tree and wisdom to the fruit. The previous Avatar Shirdi Baba, laid the base for secular integration and gave mankind the message of duty is work. The mission of the present Avatar is to make everybody realize that the same God or divinity resides in everyone. People should respect, love and help each other irrespective of colour or creed. Thus all work can become a way of worship. Finally, Prema Sai, the third Avatar, will promote the evangel news that not only does God reside in everybody, but everybody is God. That will be the final wisdom, which will enable every man and woman to go to God. The three Avatars carry the triple message of work, worship and wisdom. (SGM, pp. 236-237)
The world today is in the grip of a supreme moral and spiritual crisis. People everywhere are feeling frustrated and helpless and anxiously wondering what is in store for humanity. The hopes raised by the advances of science has overcome the barriers of time, distance and nationality. It has done little to promote better understanding between man and man and nation and nation. Never has there been so much distrust, hatred and violence as it witnessed today, in almost every country.
Men have forgotten their essentially divine nature and have even failed to observe those basic human qualities, which raise them above the level of animals. In the ceaseless pursuit of material acquisitions and sensuous pleasures, they have forgotten that the real source of happiness and bliss is the discovery of the Atma that is in each of them.
There are however heartening signs that earnest people in many countries are turning to the way of the spirit as the answer to the crisis that faces humanity. There is a spiritual hunger that is growing in every country.
Without the conquest of one’s passions and desires and without realising the divinity that is immanent in every living thing, man cannot achieve, bliss within a harmony with outside world. The message of ‘Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of Man’ which Jesus Christ proclaimed 2000 years ago should become a living faith for the achievement of real peace and the unity of mankind. The oneness of all creation affirmed by the ancient seers and sages must be expressed in a transcendental love, which embraces all people regardless of creed, community or language.
This is Sai’s Message to you all. May you all develop this Divine Love and stand out as harbingers of a new age free from selfishness, greed, hatred and violence. Let each of you be a light unto himself or herself and thereby be a light unto others. (SS Nov 91 , p. 3)
Thoughts influence the vision, which, in its turn, affects the mind. Thoughts assume good and bad forms. Good thoughts, good speech and good action make a man truly human. This is the message of the three monkeys pictured as one with closed eyes, another with closed ears and the third with a closed mouth - See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. (SSS Vol.26, p. 194)
