Transcendental Principle

That which you think exists really doesn’t exist. That which you don’t believe exists, really exists. When you acquire wisdom you realize that there is only the one, which really exists and is eternally true. That is Brahman, the Transcendental Principle. But this principle of Brahman is not easily accessible to ordinary people. All that you read, listen to and experience are all attributes of the Bhutakasha. Starting with this you have to reach out and try to achieve your goal. From the form you have to progress to the formless, from the changeful you have to progress to the changeless. This has also been described as going from Savikalpa to Nirvikalpa. Savikalpa is associated with attributes; anything that transcends these attributes and goes beyond the three Gunas is Nirvikalpa. Nirvikalpa does not undergo any change; it is unwavering. To attain that unchanging and unwavering state is the goal of the spiritual aspirant. One who has become immersed in this state is described as a Sthitaprajna. You may wonder if Arjuna achieved this state of Sthitaprajna. Yes, Krishna Himself conferred this state on Arjuna; He has transformed Arjuna into a Sthitaprajna and turned him into an instrument of the divine. (DBG, pp. 156-157)
