The Atma does not change, no one can transform it. Its nature is hidden by various veils of ignorance, such as those which Tyagaraja prayed to Lord Venkatesa to pull apart in the famous song: ‘tera teeyaga rada’. The veils are known as manas, buddhi etc. (SSS Vol.2, p. 5)
