I came because the good, the saintly, and the wise, the sädhu and sādhaka, the Guru and the godly of the world pined for Me. - Sri Sathya Sai Baba

The advent of triple Sāi Avatāra was prophesied five thousand years ago. These three Avatāras are also mentioned in several nādis and epics. Sometime during the late 1940s, Swami proclaimed to devotees at the old mandir:

Three Avatāras will descend to Earth after Rāma and Krishna. All these would be in the very sacred and holy land of Bhārata. The first in Shirdi as Shirdi Sai, then at Puttaparthi as Sathya Sai, and the third in a village in Karnataka as Prēma Sai. Sri Shirdi Sai Avatāra is over. The present body of Sathya Sai Avatāra will last for ninety six years and after a gap of one year, Prēma Sai Avatāra will assume human body and last for seventy five years. My Sarikalpa will be fruitful with these three Avatāras. The world will be a peaceful and joyful place to live in.

Science has its own limitations. Scientists are not in a position to interpret everything. Material science can only see the universe made of the five elements. Even that is limited to sensory perceptions. It cannot perceive the things beyond. It is possible only with spiritual insight. I can see things, which even the most sophisticated instrument cannot. I can diagnose and cure diseases beyond the capacity of medical science.

I do not read books. But, I know the entire history of the universe. I can see the past, the present, and the future. I am beyond time and space. You were surprised to see Me in two different places simultaneously. In future, why two, I will take thousands of the forms and appear simultaneously at different places. I materialise objects for expressing overflowing love, for giving pleasure to the   recipient, and for his protection from all dangers. Even if I have not materialised anything for you, I will come to your aid in your moments of crisis at any time and any place, if you have deep faith and devotion in Me. I will answer your prayers to any form or name, as all forms and names are Mine.

I have taken Avatār not to do small things, but great things, to uplift the world. My task is gigantic- to uplift the whole mankind and put them on to the correct path of Satya, Dharma, Sānti, Prēma, and Ahimsa and grant liberation for aspirants. In doing My work, I do not fear anyone. I do not bend to anybody. For I am Truth.

Once, Swami said, “Kalpas, manvantaras, and caturyugas have come and will come again. Many caturyugas have come and in those caturyugas, daśāvatāras will advent. In the present caturyuga, the tenth Avatāra, Kalki, has split into three aspects as the forms of Shirdi Sai, Sathya Sai, and Prēma Sai. This is not happened before and can only be seen in this Kalivuga .Sai Avatāras neither had taken place in earlier Kaliyugas, nor will  take place in future Kalivugas. During Shirdi Avatāra,I was preparing the food. In Sathya Sai Avatāra, I am serving food.  People say that Sri Shirdi Baba used to get angry. While preparing food, if the children trouble the cook, will he not get angry? In Prema Sai Avatāra, everyone will enjoy the fruits of the divine meal.” (Sri Sathya Sai Ananda Sai, Chapter  p.57/58)
