Divine Principle

The Vedas declare that the mother and the father have to be revered as Divine;they must consider the children too as Divine and foster the blooming of that Divine Principle.(SSS Vol.7, p. 471)

The One Divine Principle works through three Forms, as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva; in order to manipulate and complete the process of becoming a being called Srishti. The three are fundamentally of the same essence; there is no higher or lower; all three are equally Divine. Associated with creation, He is Brahma; with Protection, He is Vishnu, with Dissolution, He is Shiva. When he comes down assuming special form on special occasions for a specific purpose, He is known as Avatar. In fact, Manu and Prajapati and other Persons are Divine Persons entrusted by Brahma with the mission of peopling the world. Everything happens in consonance with the Divine Will. So we can assert that the saints, sages, ascetics and men both good and bad are all Avatars of the Vishnu Entity. Avatars are as countless as living beings are, for, each is born as a consequence of Divine Will. But, the story of the Yugavatar alone is worth perusal for the advent is to restore Dharma and moral life. The story of all the rest is but a story of distress and despair.(BPV, pp. 149-150)

Activity is the keynote of the Universe; by activity, all beings are born, by activity, they maintain themselves, and through that activity, they perish. Constant breathing, inhaling and exhaling, keeps the body temperature even and comfortable. The One that is beyond all activity assumed the forms of the five basic elemental materials---sky, earth, air, fire and water---in order to act and activate. To be active, yet, to be always aware that it is all mere acting, is the secret of happiness. That is the Dharma (virtue) which must regulate and sanctify the karma.

The achievements of technology which have taken man to the moon are also events in the Cosmic Drama, where the principle performers are only working out His Plan; identification with the adventure and its success or failure will make the performers proud or depressed---states which would not help inner peace and joy. The secret of good karma is, do karma as an act of Worship, a dedicatory rite offered to the source of all energy and intelligence. And, never take the consequence to heart. By this means, one can approximate to the Divine Principle, which is beyond activity.

The Divine Principle is the very core of man. Becoming aware of this Truth is the goal of life; it is source of strength which is unfailing and irresistible. Close your eyes, you feel there is no one
else here, though there are thousands. If you suffer from cataract or worse still, if you are blind, you cannot know the truth. So, too, the Divine is here, before you, behind you, inside you,
outside you; the intelligence through which you can recognise It is also with you; but, you are either blind, or diseased with defective vision or worse still, wilfully inclined to close your eyes! (SSS Vol.11)

The Divine Principle (Daivatva) is immanent in the smallest body and in the whole of creation. ‘Yat andande (pinde), tat brahmande’. ‘As in the small egg, so in the Cosmic Egg’. The Andanda represents the individual and the Brahmanda represents the whole cosmos. If we are able to understand the truth of the individual, we shall know the truth about universe. (SSS Vol.11, pp. 43-44)

God represents the concretised divine principle that is immanent in the universe – thatmoves the dew to drop, the lotus to bloom, the butterfly to flit and the sun to rise. That is all the power, all the wisdom, all the love, all the miracle that ever was, is and will be.(S&M, p. 230)

‘In Dwapara Yuga the Sun God blessed Draupadi with a divine vessel. This wonderful vessel helped Draupadi to feed the five Pandavas along with the Brahmins and the guests who were there at the lunch time. The food never ran short since the container was divine and would multiply anything that was put in it so as to feed as many people as required. Rishi Dhaumya had asked Yudhishthira to perform a ceremony to please the Sun God as a result of which the Pandavas got the gift of the divine vessel.’‘The vessel which I am giving to you is far more wonderful. It is far superior to the one given to Draupadi. In the divine vessel which Draupadi had, she had to put some food stuff first and then pray when cooked. As a result of her prayer, the food turned Akshaya (limitless). But the vessel that I am giving to you needs neither any prayer nor any article to be put into it. Rather, whenever, I notice that you are hungry, the necessary food required by you will automatically appear in the container under my divine will. Not only food, you will be getting milk, juice and all other articles of your need from this vessel only. You go and stay in a lonely and uninhabited cave in the Himalayas with this vessel. As per my directions, practice the highest form of meditation that leads to trance and connects you directly with the Atmic principle. What you could not achieve in your previous births, do it now’.(N&N, p. 12)

Just as the same bloodstream circulates in all the limbs of the one body, the One Divine Principle activates the entire Universe. (TSF, p. 202)

We know that fire principle or Tejas-tattvam, is present not only in wood but in all manifested things as formless, latent energy. But then, ca we use that fire for lighting or cooking? No; we have to transform the formless, latent heat into the patent form of firethrough the process of friction or striking a match-stick, so that we may use it for cooking, lighting and other purposes. Similarly the formless Divine Principle assumes form for the delight, benefit and redemption of His Devotees.(NNSG Vol.5, p. 11)
